Everything the house still owes, above one line.

Roost is a chore app for shared homes. What is outstanding sits above the horizon, what is settled sits below it, and the line drops through the day as the work gets done. Nobody has to hold the plan in their head.

In development for iOS and Android. One email when it is ready.

Four things before dark.

A Saturday in a house of four. Press and hold a chore to finish it, the way you would in the app, and watch the horizon come down.

Illustrative household. The same list, and the same line, is what the app opens to, and clay only ever means late.

A chore is one sentence.

Nobody wants to spend an evening filling in forms. A chore in Roost is one sentence you put together by picking its parts, and you check it by reading it back.

Alex, Maya and Jordan take turns with kitchen reset every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:15 pm.

Roost hands the first turn to Alex and the next to Maya, without anybody asking.

Chore

Rotation

When

Roost holds the plan, so no one at home has to.

The work a household actually argues about is the remembering, the assigning and the asking twice. That part is the app's job.

Turns move on their own

Set who is in the loop once. Roost keeps the rotation in order, hands the next turn to the next person, and says whose it is in a sentence you can read aloud.

The reminder comes from the app

Due, slipped, evening summary, quiet hours. Nobody in the house has to be the one who asks a second time.

A child’s work can wait for an adult

Turn on sign-off for the chores that need it, ask for a photo where it helps, and approve from your own screen instead of going to look.

The house keeps its own record

Every completion and every skip, by day and by person, with an export when you want the whole thing out.

It works with the wifi down

Chores live on the device. Sync is optional, and when it pauses the app says so in one quiet line rather than losing your day.

Built for the home you actually share.

The household changes. The question does not: who is doing what, and what comes next.

Families

A finish line a nine-year-old can see.

Pick the chores that need a photo, sign them off when they land, and stop being the person who asks twice.

Couples

The plan stops living in one head.

Both of you see what is yours and what is next. The reminder is the app’s, so it is not one of you nagging the other.

Roommates

Whose turn it is, in writing.

Set the loop once. Bathroom, kitchen reset and trash night keep moving without a group chat about it.

Solo homes

A week that does not need remembering.

What is owed today, and nothing else asking for your attention until it is due.

How the week landed, without a scoreboard.

The house can see how the work spread. There is no score, no streak and no badge, because the moment chores become a game somebody starts losing.

Questions.

Who is Roost for?

Families, couples, roommates, and adults running a home on their own. The same list works for a two-person apartment and a house of five, because what changes is the number of names in the rotation, not the way the day is read.

How does Roost keep chores fair?

Everyone sees the same list, who each chore belongs to, and what is due next. Recurring chores rotate between the people in their loop, so the same job does not quietly settle on the same person. The week view shows how the work landed, as context rather than a competition.

Can Roost do the reminding?

Yes. Roost can send a reminder when something is due, when it has slipped, and as an evening summary, with quiet hours if you want them. That is the point: the nudge comes from the app rather than from whoever noticed first.

Can a child use it?

Yes. A child sees the same screens without the management actions. You can require an adult to sign off on their completions, and ask for a photo on the chores where it helps.

When can I get it?
